F.I. is a pro bono initiative run by a team of dedicated and highly competent researchers, students, journalists, lawyers and activists. Staff work on gathering and reproducing research alongside University, part-time and full-time work. Since its creation, F.I. has attracted the support of 100 researchers and members. At any point in time, we have about 30 researchers on a research project. Collectively we have surveyed up to 350 academic and activist scholarship on various themes relating to Muslim women’s rights and activism.
Our researchers comprise of undergraduate, post- graduate, graduate, and doctoral students from well-established universities in India, U.S., U.K., and Singapore including New York University, Columbia University, the New School University, Boston University, Fordham University, Oxford University, Warwick University, Cambridge University, SOAS, UCL, and the National University of Singapore. The Chapters operate seasonally corresponding to the schedules of researchers and to the project requirements and timelines of our research cycles.
We are assisted by a network of lawyers, professors and activists who we tap into to assist us in our selection of research and providing feedback on our work.
